Membership
Founded in 1917, the Omaha Education Association (OEA) is a member-directed association of professional educators dedicated to providing quality public education for the students of the Omaha Public Schools.
We, the members of the Omaha Education Association are the voice of education professionals in the Omaha Public Schools. Our work is fundamental to the community and we accept the profound trust placed in us. Our vision is a great public school for every student. Our mission is to advocate for education professionals and to unite our members and the community to fulfill the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world. The following principles guide our work and define our mission: equal opportunity, a just society, democracy, professionalism, partnership and collective action.

Founded in 1857, NEA proudly claims over 3 million members who work at every level of education, from pre-schools to universities.
